Dear SPITCH Community,

This is the most difficult announcement we have had to make since the founding of SPITCH.

First of all, we want to thank you. We are extremely proud of your exceptional support and trust in us. SPITCH owes its success to its wonderful community, which has enabled us to create a virtual platform through daily and collaborative dialogue that has grown rapidly since its inception.

Unfortunately, we have been asked by the new „Gemeinsamen Glücksspielbehörde der Länder“ (GGL) to cease operations of SPITCH by April 28, 2023. The reason given is the organization of

"public gambling." One of the main accusations is that you can participate with money, but the decisions about winning are determined mostly or entirely by chance.

However, anyone who looks at the Daily Fantasy Sports market in North America or has been involved with providers like SPITCH over the past four years knows that chance or luck is subject to skill or expertise. This is proven by scientific studies, mathematical reports, and of course, the experience of us and industry experts.

Unfortunately, we must comply with this request - with a heavy heart - even though we were not classified as a sports bet or gambling by a predecessor authority. Also, the State Treaty on Gambling of 2021 does not include Daily Fantasy Sports, unlike, for example, casinos, horse racing bets, sports bets, virtual slot machines, online poker, online casinos, or lotteries.

We understand that this news is a shock for you, as it is for us. Please be assured that we have done (and will continue to do) everything in our power to continue operating SPITCH. Due to the legal situation, we will comply with the order but exhaust all legal means to go back online in Germany.

As a result of this order, it will no longer be possible to participate in pitches at SPITCH with immediate effect. All ongoing pitches (such as the season mode or community pitches) cannot be operated until the end of the season. All participations will be canceled this week, and the stakes refunded. You can, of course, continue to withdraw your credit. To do this, go to SPITCH (app and mobile web) and enter your IBAN.

We sincerely apologize for the unexpected disappointment. Rest assured, we are talking about a heart project for the entire SPITCH team. We hope you can understand our situation and thank you for your continued support during this time.
